Library blog post
Hi,
I have read an amazing book called: When We Were Very Young. It is written by the same author who wrote Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne to entertain his son Christopher Robin. If you enjoyed Winnie the Pooh, I strongly recommend this book. It is not exactly a book like a chapter book, it is poems and short stories. I love the illustrations which are in black and white. This is one of my favourite poems.
Lines and Squares
I hope you enjoy!
If you have read this book, what is your poem in the book?
Judging Information Books
CBCA EVE POWNALL AWARD
This term the Year 4s have been looking at CBCA short listed information books.
I think a good information book has to have some illustrations and of course information. The 6 books that we read were Make Believe, Sorry Day, Our birds, Bouncing back, Happiness Box and Waves. They are amazing books so I recommend you read them!
Tips..
*Don’t put too many words on the page or the reader will get bored
*Make the layout not all over the place.
- put illustrations on the page
- Do cool things out side of the box
I loved the book “MAKE BELIEVE” by Kate Ryan and M.C Escher. It is all about optical illusions and perspectives. It was art work and there creative mind tricks.
What type of books do you like?

Science Experiment – Come and Meet the Scientist
We used Curiosity and collaboration to do the science experiment.
I found out that I leant more than I thought I would, I worked well with Jake and it was a Lot of fun.
I would change, not doing a lot of liquids.
What we could have done better was getting on with the job more. We were arguing about why we are so behind and blaming each other because we are behind.
Fortunately, we did manage to work together and our experiment was successful.
Our Results….
- Orange juice and plaster = 7KG
- Vinegar and plaster = 10.53KG
- Water and plaster = 10.83K
- milk and plaster = 8.83KG
Come to meet the sciences to find out more, 9 of September 2:15 4HB class room!
Hope to see you there!

Camp Reflection
Camp reflection
I’m uncomfortable, nerve shaking and sweating. I try not to look down. I went to the top. Count Down 321.
Arrr………. Terrified, swinging up and down… feels like you’re flying. Finally I stop. Boy that was fun. I definitely had to have courage for that!
